Dr. Bhaskar Samanta Graduated from Panskura Banamali College in 2000 with specialization in Climatology and obtained Master's Degree in Geography from Pt. Rabishankar Shukla University, Raipur,C.G. in 2002 with specialization in Biogeography. Dr. Samanta awarded his M.Phil & Ph.D degree in the year 2003,2008 respectively from Pt. R. S. U, Raipur,C.G.His M.phil field is about “Rural Fertility & Family Planning in Gariabandh , Mainpur and Deobhog Blocks in Raipur” and Ph.D field is about “A Comparative study of Infant Mortality in Bhilai & Jagdalpur cities of Chhattisgarh “.He joined Department of Geography, Krishnagar Govt. College as a Part-time Lecturer in 2009.He attended various international as well as national level conferences and seminars and published Abstracts in various fields of Geography.His Teaching interests include courses on Biogeography, Climatology, population geography, Social & Cultural Geography.

In 2012, published a paper entitled “Challenges of changing climate & Biodiversity : A vision for Alpine Sikkim” in the Proceeding of the UGC Sponsored State Level Seminar on “Biodiversity in India-Perspective, Management and Conservation” organized by the Department of Geography, Dwijendralal College, Krishnagar, Nadia.
