Dr. PINTU BANERJEE received his Master’s & Ph. D. Degree in the year 1995 & 2004 respectively from VISVA-BHARATI, Santiniketan, Gurudev Tagore’s place of Peace and tranquility. He was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Science in the broad area of PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY for his thesis entitled “IN VITRO PROPAGATION AND BIOCHEMICAL STUDIES OF ARACHIS HYPOGAEA WITH REFERENCE TO GENETIC VARIABILITY”. He is a Life Member of Association of Microbiologists of India. He has published several research papers in National and International Journals of repute. He was also placed as a Lecturer in BOTANY recommended by WBCSC, Kolkata in SREE RAMAKRISHNA BT College, a Govt. Sponsored College in Darjeeling, West Bengal in 2003. He joined in the WBES as a Lecturer in Botany at Taki Govt. College in 2007 March and there after transferred to Krishnagar Govt. College in December 2008. Dr. Banerjee has successfully completed one Minor Research Projects funded by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. His teaching interests include courses on Plant Biotechnology, Microbiology, & Biochemistry.
(1) Projects Completed/ Continuing: Completed Study of medicinal plant diversity with special emphasis on folklore medicinal plant of Nadia district and assessment of their antimicrobial activity (As a Principal investigator) vide letter No F. PSW- 085/10-11 (ERO) Dated 20.10.2010.
