NSS WINTER SPECIAL CAMP, 2014
PERIOD: 19.03.2014 TO 25.03.2014


The NSS WINTER SPECIAL CAMP, 2014 was organized by NSS UNIT-I and UNIT-II of Krishnagar Govt. College at Shambhunagar village in the Ruipukur Gram Panchayat and Shimultala village in the Depara Gram Panchayat, respectively, located in Krishnagar-I. The units jointly executed the programme and activities run in parallel in both the villages performed by the volunteers of the two units.

Career Counseling: Through the Career Counseling Centre of the college, attempts are made to create opportunities for students to enter various professions. Students are also regularly advised on the eligibility criteria for various kinds of jobs, and on the various job-oriented courses that they may opt for.

Playground: The college has a number of sprawling playgrounds. One of these is a huge ground facing the main building of the college.

Library: The college has a large Central Library. The different Departments of the college also have their own Departmental Seminar libraries

Students’ Hostel : There is a provision for accommodating outstation students’ in the students’ hostel.

Concessions and other financial aids : The college offers Government stipend to physically handicapped candidates through the Mass Education department. Students belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ OBC are offered Government stipend from the Social Welfare department of the District Magistrate’s Office. Meritorious and poor students, or those belonging to the minority groups Are given concessions amounting to over 50%. Offered help in various ways. And are given awards by a number of voluntary donors and organizations through their appointed representatives. Free-studentship to 10% 0f the overall student-strength of the college (students who have obtained a First Division / First Class in their last board or University examination are eligible for free-studentship). Half free-studentship to another 10% of the students(while students who have obtained a Second Division / Second Class in their last board or University examination are eligible for half free-studentship). If the payment of fees of students who are awarded concessions or other financial aids is found pending, then such concessions or other financial aids will remain suspended. The concessions and other financial aids have to be availed of as and when announced by the Principal of the college. Students who are awarded concessions or other financial aids will have to apply for leave to the Principal of the college if they fail to attend classes for any reason.
