Dr. Ayan Das Gupta has a distinguished academic record throughout his College Career. Right now he is serving as an Assistant Professor in the PG Dept. of Geography of Krishnagar Govt. College. He stood first in the first class in the B.Sc. (Geography) Honours Exam from the then Presidency College and received a special Certificate of merit from the Calcutta University. He also received a Gold Medal from C.U. for being topper in the M.Sc. (Geography) Examination. He has completed his Ph.D from the University of Calcutta and his Doctoral Thesis is on “An Appraisal of Urban Renewal in the City of Kolkata”. His areas of academic interest encompass correlative studies between Physical environment and its socio-cultural components, recent issues and challenges of urban development, regional planning, and ventures of rural development in India
(1) Projects Completed/Continuing :
Received one Minor Research Project of Rs. 300,000 from the University Grants Commission and the Topic of the Research will be “Gradual Decay of River Piyali and its Impact on Socio-economic Activities in the Selected C.D. Blocks of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal”. The fund is yet to be channelized in the UGC Account of Krishnagar Govt. College.
