Anindita Halder (b.1987) completed her Masters in English from Presidency College (affiliated to Calcutta University) in 2010 with a First Class. She completed her B.Ed from Institute of Education for Women, Hastings House in 2012. Since 2013, she has been pursuing her Ph.D from Calcutta University on the theme of wish-fulfillment in the works of Edith Nesbit. Her areas of interest include Post colonial studies, Children’s Literature and American Literature. She has presented two papers in National level seminars till date. She has prepared study material for B.D.P (English) Netaji Subhash Open University in 2013 and also provided assistance in translation work for secondary school text books in 2013. She won a certificate of merit in a workshop organized by the British Council, in association with Scholastic, on “How to write a Children’s Book” on 20th November, 2012, and also received a certificate of participation from Manovikas Kendra in 2012, for volunteering in the implementation of the Remedial Education Project for the remediation of Learning Disabilities of the selected students of various govt. aided schools of South Kolkata.
